Shelter Theater  Group is dedicated to equality on stage, by giving theatre artists more opportunities through gender-blind, color-blind, and age-blind casting. By allowing actors the opportunity to play non-traditional roles, we feel this will, by example, empower the community to see beyond their traditional life roles and realize that true equality is possible.

Shelter was founded in New York City in 1992. Our inaugural production featured film and television star Mackenzie Phillips, in her stage debut.
